Why Bother With Reality? – Adam & Eve

"Why Bother With Reality? – Adam & Eve" is a handcut and handpainted diptych. From ancient statues, 3D scanned, then reworked and augmented on computer, to return to hand painting on wood, this series reveals an anachronistic path, as technical as aesthetic, blurring the lines between the ancient and modern myths.
This series focuses on our ability to lose ourselves in a sea of screens, where truths are drowned in an overdose of fake news and entertainment. We built a border between the reality of the world and what we are willing to perceive, we locked ourselves in the Plato’s cave while diving into alternate realities. A reflection on the news paradigms of human interactions in the age of social media, through the way we see ourselves, but also the way we reveal ourselves to others.

Adam & Eve is a new facet of the Why Bother With Reality? project, created especially for the collective exhibition Gallery Jo Yana (Marseille, November 2019).
